These oil lamps are very user friendly, they will perform for many years trouble free with proper use.

The lamp is made from borosilicate glass and is hand blown, the glass has a delicate appearance but is very hard and has a stonger structure than normal glass it is very suitable for use in a dishwasher although with proper use this may never be needed.

It has been designed so as there is a lip on the top, this lip is so you can handle the lamp by picking it up with the tips of your fingers without leaving finger marks on the body of the lamp. (It is best to blow the candle out before moving. Once the lamp has been lit it is very easy to relight the candle. This will prevent flaring of the candle, should this occur blow out the candle wait about 10 seconds and relight.) The lamp should be cleaned before use if needed, this is done by placing the palm of hand on ther lamp and with the use of a cloth and glass cleaner all marks will be easily removed.

The wick is made of fibreglass and is incased in a borosilicate glass tube. The wick is preset in the factory and should never need adjustment. The wick is set to the top of the glass bowl a larger flame can be produced by setting the wick no more than 1mm above the glass bowl. Never touch the top of the wick, adjust from the bottom of glass tube. The wick once set determines the flame height and although it may blacken the wick will perform in the same manner for many years.

When lighting the lamp the flame of the lighter is the only thing to touch the wick, the wick should never be prodded or disturbed. Never light the lamp with matches as the wick tends to be touched when lighting. A long lighter should be purchased and is by far the best method. A little care not to disturb the wick and light the lamp correctly means that the performance of the wick will remain the same for years. When lighting, the flame will be very low and hard to see please wait and once the oil has drawn up the borosiliate glass tube it will automatically be at the perfect candle height.

When filling the lamp use the funnel provided, insert the funnel tube in the lamps filler hole, only fill bowl 3/4 full or to the bottom of the filler hole neck this will ensure tht the lamp is easy to transport from one area to another. (Never use alternative oils). G.Wizz oil has been very refined with out a fragrance nor an oil smell, which is what makes it so suitable for fine dining, and is especially made for use in the G.Wizz lamps. Th oil is of low volatility and is safe to use, it is very economical and will not clog the wick.
